Teen Patti Rules, Hand Rankings, and Winning Tips

If you are new to Teen Patti (3 Patti), this guide explains the core rules, hand ranking order, and practical table tips you can use right away.

How Teen Patti Works

Teen Patti is a 3-card game. Each player receives three face-down cards. The table pot grows as players place bets. You can play blind (without seeing cards) or seen (after checking cards). The round ends when one player remains or a showdown is called.

Teen Patti Hand Rankings (High to Low)

  1. Trail / Set: three cards of the same rank (AAA, KKK).
  2. Pure Sequence: three consecutive cards of the same suit.
  3. Sequence: three consecutive cards, different suits allowed.
  4. Color: three cards of the same suit, not consecutive.
  5. Pair: two cards of the same rank.
  6. High Card: none of the above; highest card decides.

Practical Tips for Better Results

  • Set a session budget before you start and stick to it.
  • Avoid chasing losses with larger bets after a bad run.
  • Use small to medium bets early to read opponent behavior.
  • If you play seen, fold weak hands early instead of forcing action.
  • Take breaks after long sessions to avoid emotional decisions.

Beginner Mistakes to Avoid

New players often overplay weak pairs, ignore position, and increase bet size too quickly. The best improvement comes from disciplined bankroll control and selective hand play, not from all-in aggression every round.
